PTA
The Parent Teachers Association - Warboys Community Primary School
What is the PTA?
The Parent Teachers Association is a group of parents, most of whom have children in the school, and teachers or other members of staff from the school.
What do we do?
Our main role is to fund raise for the school. The regular events organised each year include, a Summer Fete, two quiz nights and many other smaller events. For a list of upcoming events in 2009/10, please see the events page.
Who is on the committee?
The committee is made up of a Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. As well as these people there are a number of other committee members whose support and effort is invaluable. There is also a group of parents who lend a hand specifically for the larger fund raising events such as the Fete.
What does the fund raising money go towards?
The funds raised are used to pay for lots of different things all focused around increasing the school’s resources. In the past we gave money to the school for the outside canopy in KS1, interactive whiteboards, Library equipment and books in KS2 and football kit. The recently installed "Trim trail" was funded from PTA coffers. In 2008/09, we raised over £8,800 which will be invested outdoor equipment in the KS1 area; raised beds in the swimming pool corner; seating around the school, shaded areas and bike shelters.
Our plans for this year have yet to be formulated but this will be done in consultation with the school.
What do I do if I want to get involved?
We are always keen to welcome new faces and would love you to get involved, even if you can only spare a few hours to help with a specific event rather than make an ongoing commitment. Please contact any Committee member via the school office.
